School of Music welcomes new faculty
The School of Music recently added two esteemed educators to its faculty: Dr. Kevin Fenton, formerly of James Madison University and Virginia Tech, and Dr. Kimberly VanWeelden, from the school district of State Center, Iowa. Dr. Fenton has taken over as director for the University Singers, in addition to teaching conducting classes. VanWeelden directs the Children's and Senior Citizen's Choirs and also teaches secondary general music education courses. The entire faculty and student body here at the School of Music welcome you!

University Singers tour Vietnam
During the summer of 1999 the University Singers, the highly acclaimed undergraduate choir directed by Dr. André Thomas, spent two weeks on a concert tour of Vietnam. They performed two concerts in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City each. The tour was a great success and a huge opportunity for the members of the University Singers.

For a wonderful presentation of pictures and experiences from our trip to Vietnam, please see Alva's web site, Twelve Days in May: With the University Singers. Thank you, Alva!
