The music industry is a multi-billion dollar economic engine for the economies of the world. It is our belief that this industry would benefit enormously from the influx of skilled, educated musicians.

The Commercial Music program at Florida State University is designed to prepare students for a career in the

music industry. The curriculum includes all of the standard coursework comprising the Bachelor of Music degree. This includes music theory, ear training, music history, ensembles, and private instruction on the student's instrument. To this is added courses in MIDI, audio recording and production, improvisation, jazz theory and arranging. In addition to the music curriculum, students will complete 18 hours of courses in the college of business, giving them a business minor.
