What is Cawthon Hall Music Living-Learning Center?

We started with Cawthon Hall -
a historic and beautiful campus landmark
now a newly-renovated air-conditioned residential building
a two-minute walk from the School of Music
beside the main campus library


And made a wonderful place for Living -
suite-style rooms connected by a semi-private bath
most with views of campus or the beautiful interior courtyard
full University Housing residence life programming
rooms wired for computers and cable television
hardwood furnishings
a large, comfortable parlor
reading and study areas
kitchens on each floor
small refrigerators in each room
a palatial laundry room in the basement
And Learning -
award-winning faculty
small classes in high-tech classrooms
a computer/group piano classroom
a comprehensive state university
a liberal arts tradition
a strong University Honors Program
an academic advising office

Checklist for applying to Cawthon Hall
incoming first-year music majors are invited to apply for this program
apply to Florida State University as a music major at admissions.fsu.edu/undergradapp
after you are admitted to Florida State University, submit your University Housing application and required deposit online at www.housing.fsu.edu. Applications for Cawthon Hall Music are not available through the housing website because you must be admitted to the School of Music by audition to apply. You do not need to select Cawthon Hall on your housing application; if admitted to the Cawthon Hall program it will override your other hall preferences.
successfully complete your School of Music audition prior to the end of February
submit your online application to the Cawthon Hall Music Living-Learning Center following the instructions with your acceptance letter from the School of Music. Applications received by the first week of March will receive priority consideration.
invitations to participate in the Cawthon Hall Music Living-Learning Center will be sent by or before mid-April
return your Invitation Response Form by the deadline indicated on the form
